Brush
Stroke
24" x 30" Acrylic on Board
Even from the inception of the "BLONDE
& GAGGED" series, I had always intended to stray from
the original concept. The plan was at some point in time to take the initial
look, feel, and subject matter of the paintings in that series and experiment
a little. You know ... mess with it a bit. Replacing the tape with barbed
wire, rope, whatever. The possibilities are endless.I just didn't think
that it would take until the 19th painting in the series to do it. (Nothing
wrong with consistency if it's working for you). The photo reference for
"BRUSH STROKE" was shot a couple of years ago at the same time
I produced "SELF-GLORIFICATION".
The idea was to have the model painting the stripes on herself. At first
glance you assume because of the striping that she is wrapped up in the
same tape that was used to produce the first 18 paintings. Then at closer
inspection you see that she is actually painting the stripes on herself.
Pretty ingenious, huh? Hey!...I know it's not rocket
science or "Where's Waldo" or something. But even us artists
get bored once in awhile.

Model
- Glori-Anne Gilbert
When it comes to Glori-Anne Gilbert, I'm not sure where to begin. I met
Glori-Anne on the convention circuit a few years back and we became fast
friends. Maybe it's the long blonde curly hair, or the puppy dog cuteness.
But very few models can combine a pure sense of sexuality with an all-american
girl next door flair like Glori-Anne. I'd like to continue gushing here,
but in all probability she's going to read this and I don't want her confusing
a stalkers mentality among my other good qualities."BRUSH STROKE"
is her second appearance in the "BLONDE & GAGGED" series, and
hopefully not her last. If you ever get the opportunity to meet Glori-Anne
at one of the multitude of shows she does all year long. Ask her what
she believes was one of her favorite photo shoots that she has done over
the years. I'm sure it will have something to do with black tape...hot
lights, Hmm, I better quit while I'm ahead. If you'd like to see more
