Long before the "Blonde & Gagged" series was created, I always enjoyed
painting beautiful women. Whether it was a freelance job, commission,
or just for my personal portfolio, Pin-up and Glamour art was a passion
and a great release from the everyday grind of advertising illustration.
Some paintings were done solely for the purpose of creating a beautiful
piece, some were done as an exercise. For example: "Girl with Green Gloves"
was an attempt to see if I could get the look and feel of materials such
as leather, satin, and suede without the benefit of mixed medium. If I
can't do it with a brush, I'm not going to resort to using an airbrush
or other tools to achieve what I'm after. "Heatwave" was a poster for
an erotic dance show in Las Vegas, and the "Graduate" was done for Marianne
Ohl Phillips, one of pinup's most noted historian's and dealer. Also included
in this gallery are some odds and ends such as: comic covers, calendar
art. These three were done years ago when I was a starving artist in Hollywood
working with different publications in the entertainment industry. HEY...a
guys gotta eat! Can you guess who they are?
